A little business with big dreams

Here we go, folx, Dandy & Rebel are about to get real.

After ages planning and collecting fabric, I can finally say Dandy & Rebel is about to launch, and I’m not doing it alone. Recently, I was accepted into the University of South Wales Launch Accelerator Programme. Now my business has real support, and I have someone to hold me accountable for stuff instead of it being “one day”. There have been meetings, Zoom calls, big questions, and spreadsheets, but most importantly, I’m finally moving from planning to sharing my work.

So what’s coming?

Handmade, gender-neutral clothing that actually fits real bodies, made in small batches and limited runs.  Each piece is crafted carefully at my sewing table, featuring details like contrast stitching, vintage-inspired cuts, and flexible sizing for comfort and individuality.

Accessories blending costume flair and couture comfort, including handmade scarves, bags, and headbands designed for daily wear.

Signature D&R dungarees, designed for easy movement, with adjustable straps and deep pockets, will be part of the launch.  Many patterns have been drafted, adapted, discarded, and redrafted - a labour of love, much!?

I make everything myself, in small batches by hand. Every stitch is intentional, from contrast colours to subtle historical details in pocket linings. This is slow fashion for anyone who wants to feel seen, for those who don’t always fit the mould.

And since we’re talking beginnings, I’ll share a lil personal update: You might’ve known me as Amber, but now, professionally, I’m Avi (pronounced A-V). As I moved through my costume degree and Launch programme, I found myself stepping into a version that feels more grounded and true. Avi fits - it’s short, soft, and gender-neutral, plus like my clothes, it lets me breathe.

Also, keep an eye out for a new character: the Needlewitch. She might appear soon in a video or future collection with vintage style and a bit of magic in her sewing kit. More on that soon.

Dandy & Rebel is taking root.  The first pieces are almost here.  I am so grateful to everyone supporting me as I sort out details……… and consider a custom wax seal. (It is time.)

Stay tuned, subscribe, and get ready to #TailorTheRebellion.

Love and slightly sore fingers,

Avi x
