In this module, I worked with RCT Theatres on their Cinderella pantomime revival, helping to make Dame costumes that matched the existing ones. My main task was the ‘Ursula’ showstopper Dame costume. Using the design references, I built a structured bodice, a skirt, and a padded tentacle overskirt. I needed to ensure that this costume matched the ‘Ariel’ costume, while also allowing for adjustments to accommodate two different actors during the run. The main challenge was to balance theatrical flair with comfort, while maintaining a bold and fun look for the stage.
