Industry Freelance Simulation
“The Mistress”
This project was completed as part of a third-year industry-simulated freelance brief and focused on sourcing and fitting costume for a pregnant character in a soap drama context. Working from the script, I balanced narrative realism with the heightened visual requirements of television.
I developed custom pregnancy padding to create an accurate, believable silhouette that could be adjusted for comfort and continuity across scenes. Costume pieces were sourced, altered, and fitted to align with both the script requirements and the established visual language of the show.
This project demonstrates my ability to respond to script-led briefs, adapt costume to changing bodies, and make practical decisions that support character, story, and performance within a screen environment.
